Starting off with the least lucrative jobs in the list, both electrical and electronics engineering technicians can earn, on average, around £45,000. This is according to the Job Centre Guide, which is an independent guide to the services offered by the JobCentre Plus. The role of an electrical and electronics engineering technician is said to suit someone who enjoys designing, building, repairing and maintaining electrical components and machinery.
Offering the same salary of £45,000 is the alternative career of dental hygienist, which would require someone who isn’t easily grossed out. If you’re after a slight increase in wage, then becoming a first-line supervisor of correctional officers could earn you £46,000 per year.

This path is for those who haven’t pursued the police academy but are interested in law enforcement.
Then there’s the role of computer network support specialist – best for people who have a knack for IT and enjoy solving problems – which can give you around £47,000 per year.
Moving slightly up on the salary scale, to £49,000 annually, there’s boilermakers and claims adjusters, examiners, and investigators.
The Job Centre Guide elaborated on boilermakers, by noting: “If you have a knack for mechanical and plumbing repairs, becoming a boilermaker might be a suitable option. You’ll learn on the job as an apprentice.”
As for the claims adjusters, examiners, and investigators, this is great for people who have “strong reading comprehension and an interest in investigative processes”.
At the £50,000 per year mark, a real estate agent is a good option for people who have strong interpersonal skills and are naturally detail-oriented. This is also the same average pay as a diagnostic medical sonographer in the healthcare industry.
At £53,000 per year you have the choice of becoming a first-line supervisor of mechanics, installers, and repairers.
Or you might be interested in becoming a marketing manager who can earn, on average, around £55,000 per year. This role is said to best suit someone who has “excellent communication and strategic thinking skills”.
Then, at £56,000 per year, there’s a welding engineer, a construction manager, and power distributors and dispatchers. Making up to (and more than) £100,000 per year is the rewarding role of becoming an air traffic controller.
“These are just a few examples of high-paying jobs in the UK that do not require a bachelor’s degree,” the Job Centre Guide noted. Keep in mind that the salaries mentioned are approximate figures and can vary based on factors such as experience, location, and industry.
“Exploring these career options and conducting further research can help you find a high-paying job that suits your interests and skills in the UK.”
