Biden bites baby, sticks infant’s foot in mouth, kisses tot, odd show | US | News

Joe Biden seems to bite a baby’s leg while the little one is dressed like a chicken and cradled by its mother who brought the child over to the President, in this rather peculiar snapshot.

The blunder-prone outgoing US President was caught in the act of mock-biting a baby’s foot while greeting trick-or-treaters during a White House Halloween celebration on Wednesday.

He also planted a peck on another youngster’s head and seemed to chomp down on another tot’s knee. The mother was nonplussed by the odd antics, happily chatting away with Biden, while the babe reportedly chuckled — but their response was at odds with the uproar unleashed across social media.

One bemused Twitter user commented: “President Trump is mingling with garbage men at his rally in Wisconsin. Meanwhile, Joe Biden is literally BITING BABIES at the White House Halloween Party. WTF IS THIS TIMELINE?” Another couldn’t hold back their amusement, writing: “I can’t stop laughing at this clip of Biden greeting a baby dressed as a chicken at the WH Halloween event while the most OMINOUS music plays.”

A third, equally amused, implored: “Someone call 911 immediately. JOE BIDEN JUST BIT A SECOND BABY AT THE WHITE HOUSE. This is NOT a joke. He stuck this second child’s foot in his mouth three times!”

All this unfolds as White House aides are reportedly in damage control mode following allegations that President Joe Biden referred to Donald Trump‘s followers as “garbage” in a fiery oration Tuesday.

In a gaffe that has sparked controversy, President Biden, aged 81, addressed a Latino advocacy group and referenced a distasteful joke made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at a Trump rally. “Just the other day, a speaker at [Trump’s] rally called Puerto Rico a ‘floating island of garbage’,” Biden told the audience, referring to Hinchcliffe’s comment at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The president then added: “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters, his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American,” he asserted. “It’s totally contrary to everything we’ve done, everything we’ve been.”

White House officials have been working tirelessly to mitigate the fallout from the statement, which has offended many, according to Mirror US reports.

The White House has been frantically trying to clarify President Biden’s harsh criticism of Trump followers, claiming that the inclusion of an apostrophe at the end of “supporter’s” in Biden’s remark indicates he was singling out Hinchcliffe, not the entire group of Trump supporters. Despite attempts to clarify, the comment quickly caused uproar among Trump’s base.

Even Trump himself condemned Biden’s statement as being “worse” than Hillary Clinton’s notorious ‘deplorable’ comment. In response to the backlash, President Biden swiftly issued a new statement: “Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump’s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage – which is the only word I can think of to describe it,” the President clarified.

President Biden remarked: “His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That’s all I meant to say. The comments at that rally don’t reflect who we are as a nation,” in a carefully crafted statement that left many perplexed. Meanwhile, at a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump unleashed a further verbal attack on Biden.
