Meghan Markle has swapped her undone chignon and messy buns for a more polished yet laidback California beach wave. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, looked radiant when she appeared with Prince Harry in a joint surprise video earlier this week.
The couple called for greater protections for “the most vulnerable in our world” against the threat of digital violence and harm. Meghan looked sensational in a stunning blazer which complimented her new style – although this is not the first time the American acress has stepped out donning the new look.
Back in September she attended an event at the LA Children’s Hospital Gala over in the US. The tussled look is considered to be a timeless classic and can suit all hair types, lengths, and face shapes.
Meanwhile, it brings a universal appeal, and has even been adopted by her sister-in-law Princess Kate. The Express.co.uk caught up with WELLA hair expert, Georgina Murphy, who is a Master of Colour and Senior Stylist, and owns the Vintage Lounge, she told us the top five products you need to achieve her look.
It is important to remember that beach waves are a loose but meant to be textured with straight ends and a curl pattern. It is entirley up to the individual of how big or small you want them as that decides the look you are going for.
Georgina said: “It is important to prep the hair before you style it. Meghan clearly uses a variety of products to add flexibility as well as that shimmering gloss.
By adding a selection of gels it encourages waves to form, which also gives that boho free flow.” Before adding: “If your hair is naturally wavy, you can apply the products while your hair is damp and let it air dry. If your hair lacks natural texture, you can use a curling tool to form loose waves.”
If you want to re-create the Meghan look then Georgia said: “I would use a large round brush to smooth out your hair then add in a delicate lotion that will add shine, repair damage as well as moisturise and tame flyaways – this gives that polished look. And I would also apply a thermal protection product. “
