Meghan Markle displayed some “authentic shock” in her “With Love, Meghan” holiday special episode this week when Prince Harry made a negative comment about her, a body language expert has said. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, returned to Netflix screens on Wednesday in the new festive episode of her series, which saw her “embrace” holiday traditions.
In one scene, Prince Harry joined his wife in the kitchen, where the pair displayed some humorous banter. However, while this may have all seemed like lighthearted fun, one body language expert has said otherwise.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, expert Judi James said that Meghan actually shows some shock when Harry makes a negative comment suggesting that her mother Doria’s cooking is better than hers.
Judi said: “He (Harry) adopts a ‘naughty child’ air of crouching mock fear as he says this, but he seems to (mistakenly) believe that by complimenting her mother’s cooking he will somehow be guaranteed to be pleasing her.
“Harry clearly understands little about the complexities of a mother/daughter relationship, especially when the daughter is trying to pitch herself as some kind of world class food whisperer.
“It is claimed that there is no such thing as a joke, just a dig or a swipe at someone’s expense and although Meghan’s response looks playful and ‘mock’ on the surface her instantaneous side-eye as her mouth falls open in shock and her hands freeze in mid-air suggests some authentic shock that he would dare to draw any negative comparisons in front of her cameras when she is vying to be producing perfect levels of Xmas edible fare.
“Will the banter battle continue through Harry’s next big TV event? Will Meghan be in front of the cameras at his Invictus Games jokingly telling him that his father’s contribution to Invictus was better than his?”
