Despite the dire numbers, the Tory leader was defiant when challenged by presenter Susanna Reid on a possible Reform pact.
Mrs Badenoch said: “Absolutely not. This is not the time to be talking about any sorts of deals, what I am interested in is getting the country working, not just getting back in for its own sake.”
Mrs Badenoch blasted Reform for having no concrete plans, declaring that they were “just saying whatever to whoever”.
The Tory leader said Reform was “not a conservative party”, saying that Mr Farage wants to “spend more money on welfare” while her party aimed to slash it. She added that “public spending is out of control”.
She savaged Reform’s “random” policies, saying they were talking about “nationalising Rolls-Royce, nationalising oil and gas”, while the Tories were “not a nationalisation party”.
The Tory leader painted a bleak picture of Britain’s struggling high streets, warning that family businesses were “terrified” of Labour’s plans.
She said: “Our high streets are closing down, businesses are screaming.
“I want people to feel a sense of optimism, that hope is coming.”
Mrs Badenoch pledged to abolish stamp duty and scrap business rates on the high street in a bid to rescue Britain’s dying town centres
But a Reform UK spokesman hit back, savaging the Tories as untrustworthy.
He said: “There will be no deals with a Conservative Party that unleashed record mass immigration, trashed the economy, and whose leader Kemi Badenoch was right at the centre of every disastrous decision in government.
“The Tories can never be trusted again.”
