Met Office issues major weather warning update affecting 131 areas – full list | Weather | News

The Met Office has updated one of the yellow warnings issued in recent days. The national weather forecaster announced on Tuesday, January 6, it brought forward its yellow alert for ice to Tuesday evening. The warning, covering a whopping 131 across much of Scotland, Wales and England, was initially set to come into force on Wednesday, from midnight to 10am.

However, it has now been edited to start at 7.13pm on Tuesday until 10am on Wednesday. The Met Office warned of potential disruptions caused by the ice, including travel delays and injuries. It said: “Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.”
