Jeremy Jacquet ‘picks between Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea’ for blockbuster transfer | Football | Sport

Jeremy Jacquet has reportedly made his decision on which Premier League side he wishes to join. Jacquet is attracting interest from clubs across the top flight, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool having been linked to the youngster.

At just 20 years old, the defender is considered one of Europe’s most promising talents, with a move to a big club expected in the coming months. While talks have been ongoing, it’s said that a deal will be difficult to complete during the January transfer window.

Regardless, according to Sky Sports, Jacquet’s heart is set on a move to Chelsea, meaning the likes of United and Liverpool will likely be left disappointed. It’s claimed Chelsea are locked in negotiations with Jacquet’s current club, Rennes, about the framework of a deal.

Away from a pursuit of Jacquet’s signature, transfer talk at Chelsea this month has primarily focused on the future of Cole Palmer. It was reported by The Sun that Palmer had grown homesick and could be open to a move closer to his Manchester home.

When quizzed on the issue, new Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior insists he has no worries about Palmer’s future. Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash, he explained: “Cole is an incredible player, like I have the guy sitting next to me [Moises Caicedo] and many players in the group. I’m not surprised at the timing, a new manager comes in and a player is unsettled. It’s not true. Cole is here, he’s very happy and I can’t wait to see him back on the pitch.”

Before adding: “There’s no reason for an assurance,” Rosenior insisted. “It’s so unrealistic [that he would join United]. It’s come from nowhere. There is no need to have the conversation. Cole is happy. You can’t stop speculation, but some speculation is so far from the truth there is no point having a conversation about it.”
