The measles outbreak in South Carolina is now the largest in the United States, surpassing the outbreak in West Texas in 2025. Measles has spread to at least 789 people in the state with a majority of cases centered in Spartanburg County and mostly among people who were either unvaccinated or didn’t know their vaccination status.
