A major landmark in Birmingham has been cordoned off by police amid an ongoing incident. West Midlands Police have erected a significant cordon around Birmingham Library and Centenary Square.

Pictures from the scene show marked police cars, ambulances, and a fire service truck in the area. Police officers can also be seen manning the cordon, which stretches across the square. The nature of the incident remains unclear. One woman, who spotted the emergency service presence, told Birmingham Live: “Serious incident here at Birmingham library. Everything is cordoned off and lots of police, fire, and ambulances.”
