Eighty flood warnings have been issued as unrelenting rain continues to soak the UK. The Environment Agency (EA) on Saturday issued 80 such warnings, which mean flooding is expected. They are mostly scattered across the south and south-west England as well as the East and West Midlands.
As of Saturday evening, there were 235 flood alerts issued by the EA, meaning flooding is possible. Natural Resources Wales has 11 active flood alerts while at the time of writing Scotland had one flood warning in Orkney. In England, flooding from groundwater is expected in more than 30 locations, including the Wyle Valley and South Wiltshire Downs.

The Met Office said on Thursday that rain had fallen every day of 2026 in south-west England and South Wales.
Both have experienced a far wetter than average January, with 50% more rainfall than usual, according to the forecaster.
Coastlines in the south-west saw blustery showers on Saturday while South Wales was battered by heavy showers.
Sunday is forecast to bring showers and some sun, but more wet and windy conditions are to move in from the west at the start of next week.
Dan Stroud, Operational Meteorologist at the Met Office, said: “Unfortunately, there’s no end in sight.”
