A photographer based in the US has revealed what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are really like behind the scenes after photographing them last year. Phillip Van Nostrand, who lives in New York, took to his social media to reveal that meeting the couple in October was one of “the coolest things” he did last year.
The photographer said that he was present at the Project Healthy Minds gala, which is when he took photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. He has now shared exactly what they are like behind the scenes.
Writing on his Instagram, he said: “One of the coolest things we did last year was photograph Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the @projecthealthyminds gala in October (they are both so nice, I promise!).”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have lived in California since 2020, attended the gala in October, where they were honoured with the Humanitarians of the Year award.
The award recognised the couple’s work through their Archewell Foundation to make the digital world safer for young people and their families.
It is believed social media and preventing the harm of social media is a very important topic for the duke and duchess.
Harry gave a speech at the event, telling the audience: “Tonight, we are all here together to focus on what remains one of the most pressing issues of our time…”
He continued: “Let me share a number with you: 4,000. That’s how many families the Social Media Victims Law Centre is currently representing – families whose children have been harmed or lost forever to social media.
“Four thousand cases at just one firm. And that number represents only those parents who have been able to link their child’s circumstance to social media use.”
They were not accompanied by their young children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, at the event.
