A UK pub firm has collapsed into liquidation after nearly seven years. Riddrie Pub Co. Ltd. is registered at 126 Smithycroft Road in Glasgow, the same address as The Princess Bar. It describes itself as a “friendly East End local”. “Experience home-cooked pub grub, great drinks, and live entertainment in our warm, welcoming atmosphere,” its website adds.

According to a listing in the London Gazette posted today, Riddrie Pub Co. Ltd. has appointed liquidators and is undergoing a creditors’ voluntary liquidation. This means directors of a firm decide that it cannot pay its debts, and so voluntarily choose to wind up operations.

A resolutions for winding up notice was also published, stating that at a general meeting of the company held remotely on February 17, it was decided that the firm would be “wound up voluntarily”, and that Dean Smith of Revolution RTI Limited would be appointed liquidator.
The Princess Bar is rated 4.1 stars on Google.
Six months ago, Ashley Easdon wrote in a review: “Had lunch with my mum n daughter and it was gorgeous very tasty steak pie and fish n chips and the lentil soup was really good.”
Ann Campbell wrote ten months ago: “Visited this bar for first time yesterday for family funeral and what can I say food was delicious we had lentil soup and a choice of steak pie/ fish /and chicken in gravy I had the fish and its the best fish I’ve tasted for a long while they have a great selection on there menu at reasonable prices and staff were lovely and friendly Daniel our server was really nice and friendly and nothing was a bother for him it was a lovely wee dining area spotless clean and had a cracking large beer garden and parking area will definately be visiting this place again soon thanks for your top class service and compliments to the chef.”

“I was in another local a few days later & was the same price for 3 starters, 3 mains & 2 pints & a cola. Maybe the team need to get out and see what the other pubs are doing.”
