A widely used shampoo and conditioner set has been withdrawn from sale, with purchasers strongly advised to cease using it immediately. The Office for Product Safety and Standards has issued a product recall notification for the items owing to a “serious” chemical hazard.
The Pilgrim Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner Set was withdrawn last month and delisted from Amazon. Anyone possessing the shampoo and conditioner bearing the code HS5130 Jul 2025 395.00 1.98 has been urged to heed the recall warning. The products contain Zinc Pyrithione, which is not permitted in cosmetic products.
Amazon’s codes are B0D5DBM7G7 for the shampoo and B0D5D9BF3Q for the conditioner.
Pilgrim’s shampoo and conditioners generally sell on the online platform for between £12 and £20. Announcing the recall notification, the OPSS said: “The product presents a serious chemical risk as the ingredients list indicates it contains Zinc Pyrithione, which is prohibited for use in cosmetic products.
“It also includes the following undeclared allergens: hydroxycitronellal, hexyl cinnamal, and limonene. This could lead to consumers with sensitivities using these products and having an allergic reaction.”, reports the Mirror.
The products were delisted from Amazon and blocked at the UK border. Nevertheless, if you possess a Pilgrim Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner Set, you should examine the product labelling to confirm it isn’t covered by the recall.
This week, another cosmetic product has been hit with a recall notice. Hello Sunday’s The One for Your Eyes Eye Cream SPF 50 has been pulled from shelves due to its failure to meet the SPF levels stated on its packaging.
Customers have been cautioned against using the eye cream as it may not provide “adequate protection”, potentially increasing the risk of sun-induced skin damage.
The eye cream is packaged in a mint green container adorned with pink branding. It was produced in Spain, and every batch of the product is implicated in the recall.
Hello Sunday stated: “Initial testing for The One For Your Eyes – eye cream SPF 50 confirmed that the product met the labelled SPF 50 UVB protection, but recent test results showed that it failed to meet the level of SPF stated on the product label.
“While we have not received reports of any incidents related to this issue, and we have not been notified by the relevant regulatory authorities of any reported incidents either, we are proactively and voluntarily recalling The One For Your Eyes- eye cream SPF 50 effective immediately, out of an abundance of caution to ensure full consumer safety as well as product compliance and efficacy, given that the level of protection may not be that stated on the product label.”
It added: “We ask our customers to please immediately stop using The One For Your Eyes-eye cream SPF 50. Customers will be eligible for a refund. If you purchased The One For Your Eyes- eye cream SPF 50 through one of our authorised retail partners, please contact them directly for a full refund.”
Hello Sunday stocks products on its own website, alongside Boots and TK Maxx. Eye cream bought from TK Maxx between December 2025 and February 2026 bearing the code 079989 is affected.
