King Charles reportedly does not want his nieces, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, to “pay for the sins of their parents”, it has been reported. Over the last few months, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson have been involved in various scandals surrounding their past friendship with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
While the sisters themselves were not friends with Epstein, they had met him various times, including at a lunch in Miami with Sarah after his prison release.
It is important to note that appearing in the Epstein files does not indicate any wrongdoing.
This has resulted in them being reportedly banned from certain royal events, even though the King does not want them to pay the price for their parents’ actions.
As reported by The Mirror, the Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson said: “I’ve got sympathy for both Beatrice and Eugenie, and I’d like to see them somehow rehabilitated and used properly in the Royal Family.”
He continued: “I think the King wants her, wants them both, to not pay for the sins of their parents, but I’m not sure there is mass public sympathy for them at the moment.
“They’re probably going through a complete and utter personal crisis.”
Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing and the accusations against him.
