The long Easter weekend is just around the corner, with many people looking forward to a well-deserved break. This will give people plenty of time to nip to the shops for any last minute shopping they may need for a big Easter celebration.

For anyone who’s planning a supermarket trip to kick off the bank holiday weekend, all of the UK’s major supermarkets have confirmed their operating hours for Good Friday (Friday, April 3). Shoppers are reminded to double check their local branches for any operating time variations. You’ll be able to find all of the changes for all the major supermarkets, their petrol stations and convenience stores below.

ASDA

ASDA confirmed that most of its larger stores will be open from 7am to 10pm on Friday, April 3.

Usual opening hours may vary from store to store, so customers are urged to check individual store opening times via its Store Locator, here.

The supermarket also confirmed that all of its petrol stations have a pay at the pump service, so will be open throughout the Easter weekend.

Aldi

The supermarket confirmed that branches will be opening from 8am to 9pm on Good Friday. Aldi advised shoppers that between 8am and 9am, or later in the evening will be the quietest times to pick up their Easter shopping.

Customers are advised to check local store hours online for any variations over the weekend.

Lidl

Lidl confirmed shops in England and Wales will remain open as normal on Good Friday. For branches in Scotland, customers will still be able to shop, but opening hours will be reduced from 9am to 10pm, Lidl confirmed.

The supermarket also confirmed that stores will be open with normal operating hours on Saturday, April 4.

M&S

M&S confirmed that all of its branches will be open on Good Friday. Opening times will vary from store to store, so customers should visit M&S’s store locator page on its website to find out the details for their local store.

M&S also noted that it will have an extra special Easter Dine-In range launching this week. It launches next Wednesday, April 1 and will run until Sunday, April 5.

Morrisons

On Friday, April 3, Morrisons explained that opening hours may vary, but the vast majority of its stores will be open from 7am to 10pm. The supermarket advised customers to use its store finder to check their local stores opening hours, here.

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s confirmed that the majority of its supermarkets will be open from 7am until 11pm on Good Friday and Easter Saturday. Sainsbury’s convenience stores will be open as usual from 7am to 11pm.

Tesco

The majority of Tesco’s large stores will be open from 6am to 10pm in England, Wales and Isle of Man on Good Friday. For those in Scotland and Northern Ireland, large Tesco stores will have their standard operating hours.

The majority of Tesco’s Large Express stores will be open from 6am to 10pm, while there are no changes to opening hours for standard Express stores.

Tesco explained that some operating hours may vary by location, so urge customers to check their local store via its store locator, here. It will also be possible to check for Tesco’s Petrol Filling Station opening times, as these can vary from main store opening hours.

Waitrose

Waitrose confirmed that its stores will be open on Good Friday, with some branches operating on reduced hours. Typically stores will open from 7.30am or 8am to 9pm or 10pm.

Waitrose said: “We advise customers to check the times of individual shops using the branch finder page on our website.”
