Roger Taylor on immersive Queen show plans ‘Goes beyond ABBA Voyage’ | Music | Entertainment

ABBA have immortalised themselves with their hugely popular motion-capture ABBA Voyage shows playing nightly in London, with KISS soon to follow.

And now Queen are planning their band’s life beyond their own in an immersive show that could play at The Sphere Las Vegas.

The record-breaking venue boasts a 16K resolution wraparound interior LED screen that totally immerses the 20,000-capacity arena.

And alongside the AI-enhanced version of The Wizard of Oz currently playing at the attraction, rock legends like the Eagles and U2 have performed special shows inside.

The Daily Express recently caught up with Roger Taylor to ask for the latest update.

The Queen drummer told us exclusively: “Yeah, we’ve had many conversations about it actually. It’s got to be done right. It could be the Sphere, it might not be. I did go and see the Sphere and it’s quite incredible, I have to say. I think we could make an amazing show there. Of course, since the ABBA show, technology has come on in massive leaps. It could be done seriously well. But I don’t know, these things need seriously thinking about. And if we do something, I’d like to really do it very specially. We have quite a few ideas on that page. Certainly, it would be great. I think it would be a good step on from the ABBA Show. It’s very difficult to know exactly what to do and I don’t want to screw it up. But I do still enjoy playing live!”

Sir Brian May also gave a hopeful update when we spoke to him about the show at the end of 2025.

The Queen guitarist previously told us: “I’m very keen. It takes a while, because there’s lots of dots to dot and Is to do whatever with and again, we will be working very closely with Sony, because they are the people who will come up with the money, and they are the people who make money from it now that they own the Queen catalogue. We do it for the love now, and I think we always did. What’s more apparent now is that you do it because you love it. So yes, I’m very keen on the idea. And I think there will be other Spheres, and there are other people trying to do similar things. But at the moment, the Sphere is the only immersive experience of that kind in the world. So I’m anxious to develop some ideas which I have in my head to make an immortal Queen show. I think it’s nothing less than that. I think that’s what we need to leave the world with. It will be epic.”

Queen II remastered is out now.
