Sarah Ferguson’s hiding place has been uncovered after she was not seen in public for 213 days. The former Duchess of York has finally been spotted at a £2,000-a-night luxury ski resort in the Austrian Alps.
A source said that Fergie has been keeping a low profile, rarely leaving Royal Lodge in Windsor until she was kicked out by the King in February. She fled Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s Royal residence and appears to have been in hiding since.
The source told The Sun that Sarah has clearly wanted to remain hidden, with her choice of outfit “obviously carefully chosen” to help her avoid being recognised. They said the area in the Alps is “very quiet most of the time”, so it’s a good place for Ferguson to lie low “when the heat is on”.
The source added: “The Epstein Files have hit like a sledgehammer and Sarah has not wanted to be seen by anyone. She’s been effectively in hiding and can’t face up to what’s been happening.
“She’s been laying false breadcrumbs to stop people following her trail and very few people were allowed in on the secret. But she’s seen Andrew arrested and read all the headlines about the Epstein investigations and knows it’s a very grave situation.
“While she knows the scandal is not going away, she effectively has her head in the sand and has taken the decision to hide away for as long as possible.”
Sarah Ferguson’s discovery comes after emails between her and the convicted paedophile and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein were released earlier this year. She has since been asked to testify to the US Congress over her “personal and business ties” to Epstein.
On February 19, the former Prince Andrew was arrested at Sandringham on suspicion of misconduct in public office due to ties with Epstein. He was released under investigation.
Andrew has consistently and strenuously denied any wrongdoing
There are calls for Sarah to return to the UK to speak to authorities.
The source said: “(The calls) are growing every single day — as is the speculation on where she is. She’s taking it one day at a time but the problem is, the days are now piling up and the clamour for her to speak to the authorities about Epstein and what she knows is getting louder and louder with each day that passes.”
It is important to note that being named in the ‘Epstein Files’ does not imply any wrongdoing.
