M&S introduces £7.50 change in supermarkets today | UK | News

Marks and Spencer has taken picky bits and mains to the next level with its new meal deal change. The British retailer has introduced eight new items to its Gastropub Dine-In deal.

The deal, designed for two people, includes a main, a side, and either a starter or dessert for just £15, making it just £7.50 per head. Shoppers save around £8.50 compared to buying these items separately.

Plus, some of the ready meals have been created by celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, such as the British Pork & Mushroom Stroganoff, which is made up of Heritage Gold pork shoulder that has been marinated and slow-cooked in a luxurious sauce of paprika, double cream, mustard and French brandy, along with sautéed mushrooms and little pieces of gherkin. That is just one of the eight new items added to the menus at M&S Foodhalls across the country.

In terms of main dishes, there is also the British Pork in Somerset Cider & Apple, the Bombay Potato & Lentil Cottage Pie by Tom Kerridge, and the British Beef Brisket Meatballs by Tom Kerridge.

One new starter has been added to the menu: the Pulled Pork Croquettes. The new side dishes include the Asparagus, Peas & Baby Potatoes, the Fiery Mac & Cheese by Tom Kerridge, and the Buttery Potato & Caramelised Onion Bake by Tom Kerridge.

Most recently, it announced it will lower the prices of 15 items, making them easier for families to afford. Fifteen fresh vegetable basics have been introduced to its Remarksable Value selection, and a further seven have been incorporated into its Dropped and Locked initiative.

M&S Food MD Alex Freudmann said: “Families want to eat well without paying more, and vegetables are at the heart of the weekly shop. By lowering prices on everyday veg staples, we’re making it easier for more families to shop M&S as part of their weekly shop as we double the size of M&S Food.”

M&S has major expansion plans for the UK. Last year, it revealed the 500 locations it aims to open new stores in the UK as it looks to expand its presence and customer base.
