A ‘serious’ police incident is unfolding in a UK city this evening as a helicopter remains overhead.
Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed a ‘serious incident’ is taking place in Plymouth after numerous residents spotted a police helicopter circling above the city on Monday evening (May 4).
Emergency services have also been seen at a business park near Cattedown.
According to locals, the helicopter has reportedly been “flying low” over the St Judes area and between North Cross and Beaumont Park since 9pm.
Police cordons are also in position, with a substantial police presence, by Treeby Court.
A resident told PlymouthLive there are “loads of police and ambulance” off Gdynia Way.
Another resident added: “Major incident on Embankment Road – helicopter, armed response and ambulances. Helicopter is searching the parks and streets in relation to the ongoing incident.”
The force has yet to release any further details regarding the incident.
