White House RECAP: Shots fired in Washington as Trump’s home evacuated | World | News

A witness has described hearing gunshots shortly after seeing a presidential motorcade pass through Washington D.C.

In a post shared on X, Curtis Winters said he was visiting the city when he saw a large motorcade made up of around 20 motorcycle officers and multiple black SUVs.

He wrote: “While enjoying a vacation to Washington D.C. we saw a presidential motorcade drive by with about 20 motorcycle officers and 10 black SUV’s, then heard shots fired.”

He added that minutes later he was at the top of the Washington Monument, where he claimed to have taken photos of what he believed could be possible crime scenes.

The claims have not been independently verified by officials, and it is not yet clear whether the reported gunshots are connected to the ongoing incident near the White House.

Authorities have yet to confirm further details.
