One of them was taking part in the Scar Tree Walk in Melbourne. The Scar Tree Walk is a journey connecting traditional and contemporary Aboriginal cultures and histories of the Kulin Nation. While there, the Sussex couple greeted several fans and took pictures with them, including a mother who attempted to give her baby to the Duchess to hold.
In a video shared online, the baby did not appear too pleased and clung to its mother, who insisted on taking a photo with the Montecito couple, who were more than happy to pose with her.
Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales went viral this week after her sweet interaction with a baby among the crowd in Reggio Emilia, who appeared to be infatuated with her affection.
But royal fans compared the two moments and appeared to be mocking the Duchess online.
One user wrote on X: “For Catherine, it’s about the connection. For Meghan, it’s about herself.”
A second one agreed: “Very well said.”
A third one opined: “She is the most unnatural person with children, I think I’ve ever seen.”
A fourth one said: “Princess Kate knows how to connect with the baby—smile, stroke the leg, play with the feet. Markle distances herself from the baby and is stiff and clearly uncomfortable.”
But another one defended her, writing: “Why the mum forced her child to be photographed? You can obviously see the child was stressed with this photo-op.”
