Sir David was recalling a conversation he had with the Queen’s Private Secretary the previous day. When the memo was penned, the late Queen’s cousin, the Duke of Kent, often represented British trade interests abroad in a number of similar roles.
Thames Valley Police said any possible victims would be treated with “care, sensitivity and respect” as they appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Officers are understood to have widened their investigation to examine “a number of aspects of alleged misconduct”, including possible sexual wrongdoing and corruption.
It is understood that detectives are assessing reports that a non-British woman, who was in her 20s at the time, was brought by Epstein to Andrew’s former home in Windsor, for alleged sexual purposes in 2010. Her lawyer, Brad Edwards, stated that after spending the night with Andrew, she was given tea and a tour of Buckingham Palace.
