Mercedes will start the sprint race with both of their cars on the front row after George Russell finished 0.068 seconds quicker than Kimi Antonelli in qualifying. McLaren are next best in the field, with over 0.3 seconds separating Lando Norris in third from pole position, but the world champion still came 0.019 seconds ahead of Oscar Piastri.
Lewis Hamilton finished fifth for Ferrari, outqualifying Charles Leclerc for the first time since the Chinese Grand Prix. Max Verstappen starts seventh, with Isack Hadjar in the other Red Bull eighth. The next best Brit, Arvid Lindblad, is ninth for Racing Bulls, and Carlos Sainz completes the top ten in his Williams.
