A dog food product has been recalled after an urgent warning has been issued to pet owners as the item may contain plastic.
Allprovide Pet Foods LLC, based out of Georgia in the US, has had to recall nearly 700kg of a product after finding the potential plastic contamination in the dog food product.
The company voluntarily recalled “AllProvide Holistic Pet Food Gently Cooked Chicken Recipe For Dogs” following the discovery.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said the company distributed the dog food nationwide across the US.
The frozen product is contained inside vacuum-sealed packaging.
The codes of items recalled are as follows: 048-01, 048-2, 048-3, 048-4, 048-5, 048-6, 048-7, 048-8, 048-9, 048-10, 048-11, 048-12, 048-13 and 048-14.
Shoppers have been warned to check the labels of any of the cooked chicken item they have and make sure it is not consumed by their pet.
