Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, but he will cost £51million at the very least.
CaughtOffside claim that INEOS have accelerated talks with Fernandes’ representatives, with the Portuguese star attracted by the prospect of playing for United.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa, PSG, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli have all registered an interest also.
If a bidding war takes place, Fernandes’ fee could reach as high as double the £38m that West Ham paid for him a year ago.
