Israel horror as at least one killed in Kochav Ya’ir shooting as police swarm scene | World | News

One person has reportedly been killed and more injured after a shooting in central Israel on Sunday. Police say the suspected terror attack occurred at several locations across Kochav Yair, including a gas station.

The Israel Defense Forces, IDF, and police said one of the attackers was neutralised at the scene. The IDF says earches are now underway to locate any other “additional terrorists”. In a statement the IDF, said: “The soldiers, together with additional medical personnel, began extensive searches for additional terrorists and are providing medical treatment to the injured.”

Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical and blood service, said it is treating a seriously wounded man in his 50s and a moderately injured man in his 30s. A 31-year-old man was also injured near the entrance to Tzur Yitzhak, while two others were treated near Tzur Natan, including one who was unconscious.

Speaking to Israeli Army Radio, GLZ, a police spokesperson said: “We neutralized one of the suspects, the incident is still ongoing”.

The police are now collecting evidence and searching for suspects.

In a statement on X Israel Police said: “A short while ago, police dispatch received a report of a shooting incident at a gas station in Kochav Yair.

“Large police forces are at the scene collecting evidence and conducting searches for suspects.”
