Meghan’s spokesperson defended the Duchess and told Newsweek that there was a clear difference between sharing family moments and exposing children to unwanted public attention. The spokesperson said: “The Duchess has always been clear that there is a distinction between sharing moments from her life and exposing her children to public scrutiny.
“By obscuring their faces, she is demonstrating the very principle she advocates for: giving children privacy, agency, and protection in an increasingly digital world.”
They added: “Far from being contradictory, by concealing their faces she is actually reflecting the message she delivered in Geneva: that parents can choose to share family experiences while still taking deliberate steps to protect identities, privacy, and digital footprint.”
The following day, June 4, Meghan shared two new pictures of Princess Lilibet to mark her fifth birthday.
Lilibet’s face was not visible in either of the new snaps, in line with Meghan’s strategy for protecting her children.
But fans called her out for not showing Prince Archie and Lilibet’s faces and accused her of doing it to spark interest.
One user said on X: “As non-working royals, no one asks Harry and Meghan for milestone moments or holiday snaps. Yet they keep sharing them.
“Meghan and Harry were never upset about sharing pictures of their children with the media – they were upset they couldn’t profit from it.”
They added: “Blurring their faces changes nothing. It only feeds curiosity while they pretend to protect privacy. Meghan knows exactly what she’s doing. The ‘innocent’ act never worked, and it’s not working now.”
Another one agreed: “Very well said. Everything about Meg has to do with how she will profit from it. How she can frame it to benefit her both financially and career-wise.”
A third one opined: “Meghan knows what she is doing.
“She is holding out for a huge paycheck. But here’s the thing. She has been doing this for years now. So long that people just don’t give a s*** what they look like. They’re not special here!”
A fourth one said: “We see more of their kids than we do the royal three and that speaks volumes.”
Others defended the Duchess, with one user writing: “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, can do anything she wants with her personal account and her children.
“Marrying into the Royal family didn’t mean that her rights to life were owned by you.”
