The King led senior members of the Royal Family at this year’s Trooping the Colour on Saturday, with Queen Camilla by his side. The Prince and Princess of Wales also made an appearance alongside their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, as well as Prince Anne and Sir Timothy Laurence.
List of royals who appeared on the balcony for the 2026 Trooping the Colour
- King Charles
- Queen Camilla
- The Prince and Princess of Wales
- Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis
- The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh
- Princess Anne
- Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence
- The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester
- The Duke of Kent
Royals who didn’t appear:
Lady Louise Windsor has also missed the event for a number of years due to her studies in Scotland, and she was also absent from today’s Trooping the Colour.
Her brother, James, Earl of Wessex, also missed out on a balcony appearance today, despite attending Peter Phillips’ wedding last weekend.
Unsurprisingly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not appear on the balcony today. The couple, who last appeared at the event in 2019, stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 – and have not travelled together to the UK since 2022.
Their children, seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet, have also never attended any royal events – including Trooping the Colour.
Like his daughters, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has not appeared on the balcony for a number of years.
The disgraced royal – who is no longer a working royal – has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing over the Epstein scandal and has seen his reputation ripped to shreds in recent years.
Although royals were allowed to appear on the balcony in the past, the late Queen only allowed working royals to do so in 2022. At the time, Buckingham Palace said the decision to include only royals carrying out official public duties was taken “after careful consideration”.
