Prince Harry is set to make a trip to the UK in July with rumours of reconciliation. The prince is visiting for the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham next year. But ex-Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown accused Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of trying to leverage their children to get security on the visit. In a brutal two-word warning, Brown said she believed it was “too late” for Harry to reconcile with his family.
Prince Harry will travel from his home in Montecito, California, and reportedly planned to bring Meghan Markle along with their two children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five. Although now it is becoming increasingly uncertain who will join him due to security concerns.
Writing on her Fresh Hell Substack, Tina said: “If Harry thought that bringing his children would force Ravec’s hand, he was, as he is so often, hopelessly misguided.
“Right now, the Palace is in a crouch position about increased scrutiny of royal finances, thanks to the Andrew Windsor-Mountbatten scandals.
“As if he has learned nothing in the last six years of battling with Ravec, Harry went off like an IED when, once again, he was denied official police protection for the family and, as a source close to him briefed, the rug ‘was pulled out from under their feet at the 11th hour’.
“What rug? The only rug under the Sussexes is a flying carpet on which they circle the globe in a cloud of persistent delusion.”
Tina added: “The baffling thing about both Harry and Meghan is their repeated tendency to make premature announcements before the underlying facts have been nailed down.
“Indeed, all their troubles of the past six years have stemmed from magical thinking that what they want will become instant reality, starting with Megxit itself.”
The trip will be the first time that Prince Harry’s children have visited the UK in four years. He has previously spoken about his desire to bring his two children back to his country of birth.
BBC reports that it is not clear what the security arrangements for the visit will be.
