Morrisons and Marks and Spencer confirm more closures this summer — full list

Morrisons has confirmed seven locations affected by the closures, which include some branches in York and the North East. Shutting loss-making convenience stores has been a “tough” decision for the company, but it is part of the effort to cut costs. The supermarket previously said it would try to find roles for the staff at risk of redundancy.

Marks and Spencer is closing 14 in-store cafés in England and Scotland this summer. The retailer announced earlier this year that this is part of a restructuring plan to “provide more product choice and improve the shopping experience”.

British fashion retailer Quiz, which collapsed into administration in February, is set to cease trading by July. All items are currently priced under £10 in its closing-down sale as “all remaining stock must be cleared” and due to the nature of the sale, “all purchases are final”.
