Prince Harry is said to be “lost in his own anxiety” as a royal commentator criticised him for acting more like a “spoilt celebrity than the son of the King”. The Duke of Sussex has been dominating headlines the past few days regarding his upcoming trip to the UK, which begins next week.
At first, it was understood that Harry wished to bring his wife, Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to his home country. However, over the weekend, it was claimed that the duke will be travelling solo to London due to security fears and the possibility of his family joining him elsewhere in the UK is up in the air. Now, a royal expert has branded Harry’s handling of the latest visit “entitled”.
Author and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, Ingrid Seward, told the Mirror: “Harry is lost in his own anxiety about his family and behaving like an entitled prince who either gets his way, or it’s no way.
“He is behaving more like a spoilt celebrity than the second son of the King.”
The duke was awaiting a review by the Risk Management Board (RMB), part of the process through which the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) rules on his security requirements.
Just days before the trip began, the Sussexes were informed that no decision had been made, while reports suggested that a request for police protection for the upcoming trip had been denied.
The Sussex children last saw their grandfather in person during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
It comes after Daily Express readers said that Prince Harry is “right” to be coming back to the UK solo in a recent poll.
Of the 2.884 people polled between Saturday, July 4 2.30pm, until Sunday, July 5, 7am, seven out of ten (1.988) said it was the right choice.
Nearly three out of 10 (768) said it was the wrong one, while 128 voted for “I don’t know”.
