UK heatwave to end as weather maps plunge to 7C in days | Weather | News

However, complaints of the unbearable heat are soon to be swapped for those of feeling too cold as temperatures are forecast to plummet in the coming weeks.

According to WXCharts weather maps Brits will feel a cool 7C by Tuesday, July 21.

The Artic blast will hit, marking a dramatic turn at the end of the month.

The maps show that areas in the south will drop to 10C on the Tuesday. These areas include Hertfordshire and Berkshire. Gloucestershire is also expected to fall to 9C.

Areas in Yorkshire on the map are also predicted to be below 10C.

Elsewhere, in the Midlands there could be highs of around 12C, still a sharp decline from the current temperatures in the thirties.

In the coolest part of the nation, many counties in Scotland will sit at a chilling 7C.

Although Scotland has remained cooler throughout the swathes of extreme heat, this is still a stark difference.

Powys in Wales may also feel the shock of a low 7C on the Tuesday.

At around 6am, Cumbria and Durham will also feel a frosty 7C.

These cool spells are forecast to continue into the following day with temperatures not expected to climb into the teens.

The Met Office is predicting thunderstorms and spells of wet and windier weather during this period.

The Met Office forecast states: “There will, however, be a risk of thunderstorms spreading into the south of the UK from France at times. Temperatures will be warm or very warm for most, perhaps hot at times in the southwest, but probably not as hot as of late.

“Later in the period the chance of low pressure increases, which may bring spells of wet and windy weather at times.”
