Police have shared the horror moment a motorcyclist raced through the countryside at speeds of up to 160mph while filming himself to warn drivers against reckless stunts.
The video footage shared by Thames Valley Police, which appears to be taken from the rider’s chest, shows the 35-year-old motorcyclist dangerously weaving in and out of traffic on a dual carriageway as the speedometer shows 144mph. The rider then does wheelies while his dashboard shows speeds in excess of 100mph on a single-carriageway road. At one point, he squeezes in between two cars travelling in opposite directions as he hugs the centre line of the road in a terrifying close call.
He then passes a line of traffic and veers into the middle of the right-hand side lane to race through temporary traffic lights.
However, moments later, the video footage dramatically flips for several seconds as part of the road comes in and out of view, and the rider crashes at terrifying speed. A person in the background can be heard shouting “call 999”.
The police shared it as a warning to other riders to drive carefully, writing that Lewis Baker, 35, was sentenced to 15 months in prison and banned from driving for 10 years for his driving.
In a post on X, the force shared: “Lewis Baker, 35, rode through Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire at speeds of up to 160mph while filming his dangerous riding to share with others.
“He has now been sentenced to 15 months in prison and banned from driving for 10 years. No stunt is worth a life. Ride responsibly.”
