Large parts of the UK are set for a wet end to the weekend, with Met Offie weather maps showing at least 35 areas being drenched.
Forecast maps for around 1pm on Sunday show a broad band of rain stretching from the south-west of England through Wales, north-west England, Northern Ireland and much of Scotland.
The heaviest bursts appear to be focused across parts of north-east Scotland, including the Aberdeen area, where pockets of heavier rainfall are indicated.
Much of the Highlands, the Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland are also shown under persistent rain.
Further south, wet weather is forecast across Glasgow, Argyll and Bute, Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders before extending into Northern Ireland, where all six counties are expected to see rain.
The system is then shown pushing into north-west England, affecting Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Northumberland, with parts of County Durham and western North Yorkshire also at risk of showers.
Across Wales, rain is forecast for Gwynedd, Conwy, Snowdonia, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire, while the south-west of England, including Devon and Cornwall, is also expected to turn wet.
In contrast, much of southern and eastern England, including London and the Home Counties, appears to remain largely dry at this stage, although some scattered showers are shown over parts of eastern England and the North Sea coast.
The forecast suggests many western and northern areas could experience several hours of rain through Sunday afternoon, with some locations seeing heavier spells than others as the weather system moves eastwards.
Residents in affected regions should keep an eye on the latest local forecasts, as rainfall intensity and timing may change.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Dan Suri, said: “After a prolonged spell of hot, dry and settled weather, some will see a temporary change this weekend as weather fronts move south-east across the UK.
“While some areas, particularly in the north and west, will see rain and showers, many places are likely to receive relatively little rainfall. For much of southern England, dry conditions are expected to remain the dominant feature, with temperatures recovering quickly next week and the potential for very warm or locally hot weather to return.”
