‘I feel confident to wear sandals’ as £25 set banishes cracked heels

With another heatwave on the horizon and holidays coming up, many will be looking to prepare their feet for sandal season. Dry heels, stubborn hard skin and painful cracking can really put a dampener on summer outfits, but shoppers have hailed one under £25 set as ‘the best I’ve ever used’, with one user saying ‘I look like I have new feet’.

Glowxie has slashed the price of their Overnight Ritual set from £27.99 to £23.49 ahead of the next bout of warm weather. The bestselling bundle combines Glowxie’s popular Glass Foot File with two pairs of Gel Lined Moisturising Heel Socks, and for a limited time shoppers will also receive a free accessory bag worth £7.99, too.

Regular pedicures can soon become a costly expense, and some have even admitted being too ‘embarrassed’ to go to a salon. Thankfully, the Glowxie set costs less than a professional treatment, lasts up to 12 months and can be done from the comfort of your own home.

The standout product in the bundle is Glowxie’s Glass Foot File, which is usually £14.99 on its own. Unlike traditional metal rasps or blades, the file features a precision laser-etched tempered glass surface that gently buffs away dead skin without cutting healthy skin.

As you use it, dry skin is removed as a fine powder, revealing smoother-looking feet almost instantly. Because it’s made from toughened tempered glass, it’s designed to last, too. The file won’t rust, rinses clean under warm water and doesn’t require replacement pads, with Glowxie suggesting it can last between nine and 12 months with proper maintenance.

Once feet have been buffed smooth, Glowxie recommends applying a foot cream before slipping on their Gel Lined Moisturising Heel Socks overnight. These are designed to log in moisture overnight, helping soften dry, cracked heels while you sleep.

There are alternative methods to get feet sandal-ready this summer, though. One popular option is Dr. Scholl’s Pedi Perfect Electronic Foot File, which is £29.99 at Boots. The device gently buffs away hard, rough, and dry skin, coming with an ultra roller head for the toughest skin, and a fine roller head that smooths and polishes. It boasts a dual-speed motor for gentle smoothing or more intense buffing where needed, plus Pressure Lock Technology for safe dead-skin removal.

For those who don’t necessarily require exfoliation, but want to maintain the condition of their feet, one of my favourite foot creams is the L’Occitane Shea (Karité) Foot Cream for £27. The nourishing foot cream is fast-absorbing, non-greasy and contains 15% shea. There’s also soothing lavender essential oil and anti-inflammatory arnica extract, with the formula being suitable for sensitive skin, too.

The Glowxie bundle has earned stellar reviews from customers, many of whom say that using the set boosted their self esteem. One said: “I’m thrilled. I can’t believe what these products can do just after one use. Finally I have silky feet, feeling confident to wear sandals now.”

Another commented: “Fabulous self care gift to me. Feet haven’t felt this soft and wonderful in a long time. I absolutely love the packaging, which gives luxury vibes at an affordable price.”

“I absolutely love my foot file. Every week my skin feels so soft,” wrote a third. “It sheds so much from your feet and with summer coming the flip flops will be worn with pride. Well worth the price. I purchased several for my friends and they love it.”

While the set has earned mostly five-star ratings, not every review was perfect. One shopper found the heel socks too tight for them, commenting: “I really like the glass file and the cream and foot scrub .I am not happy with the socks, they are really tight and I cannot wear them.”

Another expected the glass file to be larger than it appeared online, although they still praised how well it worked. They said: “I thought the file was bigger than it actual is. Looks bigger in the video. But it works perfectly!” For those who would prefer a bigger size, Glowxie also stock an XL Glass File, which comes in this under £25 duo set.

Generally, though, users have been thrilled, saying there’s ‘no embarrassing ugly dry skin’. One shopper added: “I treated myself to the foot and hand kit, it is honestly the best ive ever used. My feet and hands are summer ready.”

Another five-star review read: “My feet were the worst they had ever been and actually felt quite embarrassed to get a pedicure done but omg what a magical set, my feet feel invigorated and like I have been and had a pedicure but can now have whenever I want in the comfort of my own home and at a fraction of the price. A little goes a long way, so relaxing and with hardly any effort, I look like I have new feet.”

For anyone heading on holiday or just wants to feel more confident wearing sandals, sliders or open-toe shoes this summer, Glowxie’s Overnight Footcare Ritual is currently reduced to £23.49 here.
