Aldi makes big change in stores ahead of Valentine’s Day

The most romantic day of the year is just around the corner. Valentine’s Day on February 14 is the perfect opportunity to show someone that you really care, and there’s no better way to do this than with good food and drinks.

In the run-up to the big day, Aldi is making a major change in stores that all shoppers should know about. It should make any Valentine’s Day celebrations feel a lot more special – and also cheaper too. The supermarket, which was recently named the most affordable in the UK, will be dropping the prices of its award-winning champagne and prosecco offerings.

There are plenty of products set to be reduced, but there’s one that really stands out as a major bargain. The award-winning Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut – crowned World’s Best Champagne at the World Champagne Awards 2025 – will be slashed to £15.49 from February 8 – 14.

It’ll set you back £30 less than a bottle of Moet, and it’s the perfect way to toast a night of celebration with your friends or partner.

According to Aldi: “This exceptional Champagne is known for its aromas of ripe apple, soft red fruit and delicate florals – a testament to expert winemaking without the premium price tag.”

If you’re looking for an even more affordable choice, you can also pick up the Nicolas de Montbart Champagne Brut for £9.99 from next week too.

This popular tipple combines Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, resulting in a subtle elegance on the palate. It’s bursting with bright fruit and delicate floral notes, so perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Or if you’re a Prosecco fan instead, you’ll want to stock up on the ever-popular Prosecco Spumante DOC, which will cost £4.69 a bottle from February 9 -18. With notes of soft peach and pear, apple peel and lemon, it’s a fun, light and fresh way to kickstart any date night or girls’ night.

And it’s not just the alcoholic versions that will be included in this major price slash. For those who choose not to drink, Aldi’s Zerozecco provides the bubbles without the alcohol.

A Great Taste Award winner and recognised at the People’s Choice Drink Awards features well-balanced acidity and a complex, citrusy flavour for an alcohol-free sparkling experience – and it costs £2.99.

The full range of reduced fizz will land in Aldi stores next week, so make sure to stock up before Valentine’s Day.
