Ahead of last year’s Golden Globes, it was widely speculated whether Meghan Markle would be joining her former co-stars for a spin-off of the US drama Suits.
Speaking on the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globes, Gina Torres – who worked alongside Meghan on the series – revealed that Meghan was not part of the “insane” texting group.
She said: “Our text thread is insane right now, so it’s very exciting.”
Speaking to Variety, she revealed the reason for Meghan’s absence on the group chat. She said: “We don’t have her number. We just don’t.”
Meghan was not in attendance at last year’s event, despite her former co-stars Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams both acting as presenters.
Prior to this year’s Golden Globes, which Meghan also didn’t attend, she made a return to Instagram on New Year’s Day.
The mum of two posted a short reel, with her spotted running along a beach in California before writing ‘2025’ in the wet sand.
The post came just hours before a major announcement from Meghan. The former working royal and Netflix both shared the trailer for her new eight-part series, With Love, Meghan.
The show, which is set to air on January 15, will focus on culinary delights with her celebrity friends.
Despite being nine days away from the release date, royal fans have expressed a lack of excitement for January 15.
In a poll conducted by Express.co.uk, fans were asked whether they were excited for the upcoming series.
Of 9,720 votes, 98 percent [9,489 votes] shared that they were not excited to watch Meghan’s new show and that they will not be tuning into Netflix next week.
