Beatrice’s husband shares pride after story of Athena’s early birth | Royal | News

As well as opening up about Athena’s birth, Beatrice has recently been named as patron of Borne – which is a prematurity research charity.

In his Instagram post, Edoardo wrote: “So much pride for my beautiful wife, who has bravely shared our story of Athena’s early arrival. Also for her support and patronage for the incredible organisation @bornecharity, which provided us with invaluable help during that challenging time [pink-heart emoji].”

The proud father-of-three also made sure to credit British Vogue for the picture of Beatrice and Athena. The adorable picture shows Beatrice, who is dressed in blue, cuddling a tiny Athena – who turned two-months-old on Saturday.

As the Royal Family shared news of Athena’s birth, Edoardo also shared the same picture with a sweet caption about their “absolutely perfect” baby daughter.

Edoardo wrote: “Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi. We welcomed Baby Athena into our lives last week. She is tiny and absolutely perfect. We are all (including Wolfie and Sienna) already completely besotted with her.

“Our hearts are overflowing with love for you, baby Athena [pink-heart emoji]. A massive thank you from my wife and I goes out to all the wonderful staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their exceptional care and support during this incredibly special time.”

Revealing in her new interview that Athena is doing “really well”, Beatrice wrote: “Nothing quite prepares you for the moment when you realise your baby is going to arrive early. There’s so little control.

“You know that when your baby arrives the doctors and midwives are going to be there, doing everything they can to ensure she makes it through those challenging first few days. But you have no idea how these things will play out, what happens next. The uncertainty leaves you with an overwhelming fear of the unknown.”
