Boots shoppers flock to buy £10 ‘saviour for chapped lips’ in sale

Boots shoppers are heaping praise on a Nuxe lip balm that’s currently £10 in the high-street retailer’s weekly offer. Dubbed as a “saviour for chapped lips”, the NUXE Rêve de Miel Nourishing Honey Lip Balm has a rich melting texture that keeps pouts soft and supple.

The glass tub is packed with 100% natural origin beehive ingredients including Provence lavender honey, propolis and beeswax to repair and soften dry, damaged lips. The sweet and energising notes of grapefruit and lemon of this formula make it a treat for the senses.

As part of Boots’ £10 Tuesday promotion, shoppers can now buy the Nuxe lip balm for £10 online. Some users even used it as a mask by applying a more generous layer to the lips before going to bed.

Scoring a high 4.7 out of five stars, 100% of testers found their lips nourished after use and 91% of them said the lip balm has a “soothing effect”. The superior lavender honey from Provence, south of France, is highly antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, which can be used to heal wounds on the skin.

Propolis works to repair skin to speed up recovery, especially when applied on cracked pouts while shea butter conditions the lips.

One Boots shopper said: “The product looks really expensive, the lip balm is not greasy and does not leave a residue on your lips like some lip balms. It didn’t have an artificial smell and it left my lips soft all day. Stock up when it’s on sale.”

A second who suffers from dry and chapped lips often shared: “Whilst most products do help moisture and hydrate the lips, I’m often left with flaky skin around the mouth area. This lip balm is amazing. It leaves a nice shine to the lips and I was able to add my lipstick and gloss on top without removing any of the balm. At night before bed I apply it and when I wake up in the morning, my lips feel lovely and soft. Lovely little product.”

One explained she is a fan of Nuxe because the French beauty brand is committed to protecting bees and the ingredients are 100% natural. She added: “It’s a beautiful texture that just melts into the skin and has made my lips look and feel soft and hydrated.”

But some people said they preferred a lip balm in a tube rather than a pot as one wrote: “It’s okay, just like other lip balms I have used. I just use it right before bedtime, the pot is not handy to carry around, so I don’t think I will buy it again.”

On the other hand, The Ordinary’s lip balm is a great handbag staple thanks to the slim and fun macaron-size squeeze tube. The combination of squalane and amino acids plump the lips with moisture and you can get it at £8.50.

Wild offer plastic-free packaging on their lip balm range, from £6.80, and you can choose from fruity flavours like peach, mango, coconut and vanilla.
