Dune 3 trailer – Timothée Chalamet returns in ‘action-packed’ epic conclusion | Films | Entertainment

He may have lost the Oscar to Michael B Jordan, but maybe Timothée Chalamet will win next year for playing Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe Paul Atreides in Dune: Part Three.

Writer-director Denis Villeneuve just took part in a special TikTok event teasing his epic conclusion to his Dune film trilogy, based on Frank Herbert’s second novel, Dune Messiah.

After becoming Emperor at the end of Dune: Part Two, the third and final film takes place 17 years later.

The next James Bond director teased that Dune 3 is very different from the first two, and that fans can expect an action-packed thriller.

Villeneuve teased: “We see Paul dealing with the consequences of having too much power. He’s an emperor who can see the future, so he’s kind of invisible.

Anya Taylor-Joy joins the cast as Alia Arteries, Paul Atreides’s sister, who cameoed at the end of Dune: Part Two. Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson co-stars as Scythe, a Tleilaxu Face Dancer who plots to overthrow Paul. Additionally, Jason Momoa’s Duncan Idaho, who died in Dune: Part One, somehow returns as Paul struggles with his identity.

Warner Bros teased: “Directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Villeneuve and Brian K. Vaughan, Dune: Part Three is based on the novel Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert and delivers the epic conclusion to Villeneuve’s trilogy. The film stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach De Bankolé, with Charlotte Rampling, with Anya Taylor-Joy, and Robert Pattinson, and Javier Bardem, and features newcomers Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke.”

Dune: Part Three hits cinemas on December 18, 2026.
