Dyson Air Wrap is £80 cheaper at Boots right now

Dyson’s Airwrap has become something of a cult product in the beauty world since its release in 2018. In the past few years, there have been a few iterations of the hair styling tool, and the latest models on the market usually retail for upwards of £400. 

But, while browsing Boots’ payday sale, I discovered a saving of £80 on the Dyson Airwrap Complete Long Volumise, which comes with six attachments that Dyson says can work on all hair types. It’s one of the cheapest options around right now. The same tool will set you back £479.99 at Sephora and Argos. Given the popularity of the Dyson Airwrap range, discounts are reasonably rare, so if it’s been on your wish list for some time, now could be a good time to think about shopping.

Unlike traditional hair stylers, the Airwrap is somewhere between a styling tool and a hair dryer, using air to shape the hair. A spinning vortex of air rotates around the cylindrical barrel of the Airwrap to create waves, curls or a bouncy blow dry. It’s claimed that this is better for your hair than other traditional hair tools which apply heat directly to your hair.

There are some drawbacks, though. While I don’t own an Airwrap, I have tested the tool out while staying in a hotel, and found it quite confusing to use. I’ve seen plenty of people online showing off gorgeous, salon-worthy locks due to the tool, but I found it difficult to figure out the exact method to keep the bouncy effect in my thick hair. It really is all about technique. 

The proof is in reviews from other shoppers. On the Dyson website, the Airwrap Complete Long Volumise has achieved a 4.2-star rating out of a possible five, with one customer going so far as to say the styler has “changed my life”.

In their review, they added: “I can do my hair quicker, and it’s far easier to get that salon look at home. It makes me want to change my hairstyle every day.”

The product is currently sold out on the Dyson website, which makes Boots’ current deal even more alluring. However, given that it’s a payday sale, the £80 discount likely won’t be around for long. 

The Airwrap isn’t the only Dyson hair tool included in the current Boots offer either. You can save £70 on the Dyson Airstrait Hair Straightener, which comes in an eye-catching shade of strawberry pink, black and gold or silver. 

The hair straightener uses the same technology as the air wrap, avoiding the need for heat plates. It can also cut down your styling routine, eliminating the need to dry your hair before straightening. The Airstrait usually retails for £449 but is currently available for £379.99.

Dyson’s Supersonic Hairdryer is also discounted by £50, down from £329.99 to £279.99.
