Princess Eugenie has shared an adorable post on Instagram following the birth of her new niece, Athena.
Princess Beatrice gave birth to her and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s second daughter on January 22. Athena weighed 4lbs 5pz at the time of her birth.
Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi is a younger sister to their three-year-old daughter Sienna and Edoardo’s son – and Beatrice’s stepson – eight-year-old Wolfie.
Taking to her Instagram story, the proud aunt reshared the adorable picture of Athena, also shared by the proud dad and the Royal Family, wrapped up warm in a pink blanket.
The picture, which was taken by Edoardo, shows the couple’s newborn daughter wearing a white long-sleeved garment, with her face hidden by her arm.
Alongside the reshare of the picture, Eugenie included sweet gifs including a pink bow and ‘Welcome Baby Girl’.
Much like Beatrice, Eugenie is also a proud mum of two. The 34-year-old shares August, three, and Ernest, one, with husband Jack Brooksbank. Also sharing the excited for the new addition to the family, Sarah Ferguson has broken her silence following the birth of her new granddaughter.
Taking to X, Sarah – who is the mum of Beatrice and Eugenie – wrote: “Overflowing with love and joy to be able to welcome Athena Elizabeth Rose into the world. She is already so adored and I’m incredibly blessed to be a Granny once again. So proud of Edo, Beatrice and the rest of my little 5-a-side team!”
According to a statement from the Royal Family, the King and Queen are “delighted” by Athena’s birth. The statement continted: “Princess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care. Her Royal Highness and her daughter are healthy and doing well, and the family are enjoying spending time together with Athena’s older siblings, Wolfie and Sienna.”
