Princess Anne represented King Charles during a poignant engagement in the Netherlands over the weekend.
The 74-year-old has often been credited as the most hard-working royal – with many royal fans praising her for her latest appearance in the Netherlands.
On September 22, Anne was pictured lying a wreath during a ceremony at the Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Arnhem.
Joined by her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Anne also delivered a speech in honour of her brother at a reception staged at the Airborne Museum Hartenstein in Oosterbeek on Saturday.
Taking to X, royal fans have projected high praise onto Anne by commenting on her hard-working attitude and commitment to royal duties.
One fan commented: “There is no one more deserving to represent her brother. It’s an overused term, but Princess Anne is a national treasure and a great asset to her nation.”
Another wrote: “Princess Anne works longer and harder than anyone else in the [Royal Family]. She would have made an outstanding Queen like her mother and grandmother.”
Describing her as “wonderful”, another fan wrote: “Princess Anne looks stunning, elegant and stylish as usual. She is simply wonderful. She always shows elegance and is so committed to her work just like her mum . Highest respect for her! [red-heart emoji].”
A fourth fan commented: “Princess Anne…..the Best!! X”
Speaking on behalf of the King, Anne said in her speech on Saturday: “Eighty years ago, on this very weekend, Operation Market Garden was under way in this region of the Netherlands.
“An ambitious joint airborne and ground forces operation designed to seize crucial bridges to enable the advance into Germany, its ultimate aim was to end the war within a matter of months. The friendships made during those difficult days of September 1944 between the Dutch and their liberators continued after the war.
“I saw this for myself five years ago when, as Colonel in Chief of the Parachute Regiment, I attended the 75th anniversary commemorations.”
