Toto Wolff joked with Fred Vasseur about the fact that Lewis Hamilton cannot drive for Ferrari in the post-season test in Abu Dhabi later this season. The seven-time world champion has contractual obligations with Mercedes.
“We have contractual agreements with sponsors, we have a farewell for Lewis,” Wolff said. “Lots of activities that are planned and him and I, we spoke about it shortly and he said ‘I guess that’s not gonna work’ and I said ‘yeah I don’t think it’s gonna work’ and that was the whole thing. I don’t think Fred is particularly sad. Are you sad Fred?”
Vasseur hit back: “No but there is a contract you have to respect this, it’s not because we are doing something for Carlos [Sainz] that everybody has to do the same.”
