GB News journalist Patrick Christys has issued a warning to the Prime Minister on X this evening amid the ongoing Lord Peter Mandelson scandal, which has been dominating headlines in recent days. Earlier this week, a criminal investigation was launched into Mandelson over claims he had given sensitive information to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The US Department of Justice released files that appear to show Mandelson handing Epstein market-sensitive information while he was business secretary in the Labour administration led by Gordon Brown. Police officers could quiz Mandelson as part of their criminal investigation within days, it is understood. The force is currently looking into the relationships between Mandelson and disgraced financier Epstein and has examined documents linked to his 2024 appointment as British ambassador to the US.
The UK government had planned to publish these vetting documents on Wednesday in a bid to exonerate Starmer and prove Mandelson lied to him about his friendship with Epstein. However, the Met has reportedly asked the Government to delay sharing the files to avoid prejudicing their investigation.
Christys has now weighed in on the controversy, writing on X this evening: “The top and bottom of it is that Prime Minister Starmer knowingly appointed the mate of the world’s most prolific n***e to the position of US Ambassador.”
Ending with a six-word warning to Starmer, the GB News presenter penned: “You don’t come back from that.”
This week, Starmer has publicly said he understands the “anger and frustration” among Labour MPs at his decision to appoint Mandelson in 2024.
Addressing Epstein’s victims directly during a press conference, he said: “I am sorry, sorry for what was done to you, sorry that so many people with power failed you.
“Sorry for having believed Mandelson’s lies and appointed him, and sorry that even now you’re forced to watch this story unfold in public once again.”
