A group of cleaning experts have revealed their tips and tricks for removing stains from oven racks, which could cost you as little as 9p a go to attempt yourself.
A recent enquiry was posted in the Mrs Hinch Fans Facebook group by someone requesting assistance cleaning an oven, particularly the oven racks.
The grime and stains on an oven rack can be the most obstinate and eliminating them can be quite the challenge, so the person decided to reach out to the broader cleaning fan community for guidance.
In the post, the person wrote: “Hey guys, new to the group, I’m renting a house and the racks in the oven must have years of cooked-on grease.
“I’ve tried the Pink Stuff, Cif, vinegar and baking soda, and lemon juice and washing up liquid, and washing powder and bleach and Oven Brite and I just can’t get anything to get it off.”
The community swiftly responded, many of them with the same piece of advice which could be the solution you are searching for to get those oven racks looking as good as new.
One person replied by saying: “Soak in the bath with a dishwasher tablet.”
While another said: “Soak your shelves in the bath with dishwasher tablets! Amazing!”
A third person added: “Have you tried a dishwasher tablet rubbed on neat then put in bath with a few more to soak overnight?” Another user elaborated on the clever trick, stating: “Put them into a giant tub or the bath. Run the hot water and add in four dishwasher tablets. Leave them for about four hours, and then check them. They will come up with a scrubber like brand new.”
This handy hint could set you back as little as 9p each time.
The 30 All-in-One Original Dishwasher Tablets from ASDA are priced at just £2.65, which equates to slightly less than 9p per tablet, allowing you to swiftly and affordably restore your oven to its original shine.
