Police are reportedly responding to a shooting at Grand Central Station in New York City. According to the FDNY, two people have been taken to a hospital in critical condition. According to the NY Post, cop shot a man who was carrying a machete – though the exact weapon is yet to be confirmed. The incident is reported to have taken place on the platform for the uptown Nos. 4, 5, and 6 trains.
A video taken by a witness shows shows a taped-off area within the subway station and a large group of police and first responders. According to broadcaster Pix11, a stabbing has also taken place, however this is yet to be confirmed by authorities. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has stated at at 9:47 a.m local time that subway trains are bypassing Grand Central-42nd Street due to an NYPD investigation.
