Gunthorpe fire: Huge blaze as 14 appliances rush to scene | UK | News

More than a dozen fire engines have rushed to the scene of a huge blaze the Nottinghamshire village of Gunthorpe, with people told to avoid the area.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the large fire on Peck Lane at 9.42am on Thursday (March 12). The fire started in a barn and but has spread to a cottage next door, a spokesperson for the fire service said. The huge blaze has also sparked a significant emergency services response, meaning there is limited space on nearby roads, with members of the public urged to avoid the area. They have also been told to keep windows and doors shut as the tick smoke is travelling fast due to high winds.
