A popular furniture brand with nearly 200 stores across the UK has announced a major update for customers shopping for its products. Dunelm is one of the most well-known furniture retailers in the UK, having been in operation since 1979 and expanding across the country since. Now, it has 194 stores nationwide, according to data company Scrape Hero.
Dunelm has introduced a new way for customers to shop, and they can earn discounts and rewards for doing so. The beloved British furniture brand has launched a new app, offering customers a new way to shop for furniture. The app aims to “enhance” the shopping experience and is available on both Apple and Android phones. Those who download and use the app will be offered perks not available elsewhere, such as a free drink in Dunelm’s in-store Pausa cafes. Customers who sign up via the app will also get an attarctive 10% off their first purchase.
John Gahagan, chief technology and information officer at Dunelm, said: “We’re really excited to have launched our new App. It’s just over 20 years since we delivered our very first online order, and this is the next chapter in our digital journey.
“The App brings our customers new ways to interact with our products and services, wherever they are, ensuring an easy, convenient and inspirational shopping experience.”
He added: “Our launch is just the beginning, and we look forward to bringing a range of new, innovative features over the coming months, as we continue to help customers create homes they love.”
The app is available to download now via the App Store and Google Play Store. It comes after the brand last year experimented with AI-driven features on its website to improve the customer shopping experience.
Those who download the app will also get early access to launches and new collections. Plus, there is the chance to win a Dunelm gift card worth up to £500 when you download and use the app.
The free hot drink offer ends on March 23, 2026. App features include a wishlist in which users can save products they are considering buying, and a stock check feature to see in which stores an item is available at any given time.
Dunelm has its roots in Leicester, where it was founded by Bill Adderley and Jean Adderley. It started as a textiles market stall and opened its first store in Churchgate, Leicester, in 1984.
Today, the retailer has several superstores across the UK, selling a wide range of home products including bedding, living room furniture, garden sets, lighting, curtains and rugs.
