ITV release two-word Laura Woods update after presenter collapsed | Football | Sport

ITV have issued an update following the distressing incident where Laura Woods collapsed live on air before England Lionesses’ match against Ghana. According to the broadcaster, Woods is ‘doing okay’. Viewers were left concerned as Woods fell towards Ian Wright and Anita Asante, who tried to support her. The broadcast was swiftly cut short before moving to adverts.

Katie Shanahan stepped in to continue the coverage, informing viewers that TNT Sports Champions League host Woods had been ‘taken ill’. The stand-in presenter said: “As you may all be aware, Laura Woods fell ill at the start of the programme, but we want to reassure you she is doing okay. We all send her our love.”

She also added: “As you have probably noticed, we don’t have the wonderful Laura Woods because she’s just been taken ill, but she’s in very good hands so I’m stepping in at late notice.”

Woods’ fiance Adam Collard, 30, provided an update. “Laura is all OK and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages,” he shared on social media.

Fans watching from home sent their best wishes to Woods after witnessing the unsettling incident.

“Wish Laura Woods all the best after she took ill when covering England women’s team. Concerning when these things happen and may God strengthen her towards a good recovery,” one viewer commented.

“Hope Laura Woods is OK. Never good seeing someone collapse like that. Big respect to Ian Wright for being so alert to help her,” another fan posted on X.

Woods is a regular presenter of men’s and women’s football on both ITV and TNT, having previously worked as a radio presenter on talkSPORT and fronted Sky Sports’ coverage of the World Darts Championship.

She gave birth to her first child in January 2025 with Collard, a former Love Island star and social media influencer, having gotten engaged last year when he popped the question in St Ives.
